Terms of service
These terms are between you and Bright ideas study buddy, the operator of Scholarly. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Study support and accounts
Scholarly provides AI study tutoring, essay coaching, flashcards, practice quizzes and study planning. It helps you learn; it is not a service for writing graded assignments to submit as your own work. Keep your credentials confidential and your account details accurate. If you are not legally able to enter this agreement, obtain permission and appropriate supervision from a parent or guardian.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service unlawfully, for fraud or spam, or to infringe intellectual property or privacy rights. Do not interfere with security, upload malware, probe systems, scrape without authorisation, circumvent restrictions, or attempt to jailbreak safeguards. Do not generate illegal material, harmful deepfakes, hate speech or malicious code. Follow your school’s academic-integrity rules.
Your content and AI outputs
You remain responsible for your prompts, uploads and use of outputs, and must have the necessary rights to share input content. You retain rights you hold in your inputs and grant us a limited licence to host and process them to provide the service. To the extent permitted by law and provider terms, you may use outputs, but they may not be unique or eligible for copyright. We do not guarantee ownership, originality or non-infringement of generated content.
We may remove or restrict content, refuse or filter outputs, and suspend accounts for misuse or repeated infringement. Rights-holder complaints should be directed to Bright ideas study buddy, identifying the affected material, the right claimed and the requested action; a dedicated contact channel will be added before live sales.
Accuracy and availability
AI outputs may be inaccurate or incomplete. Verify facts and calculations, cite sources where appropriate, and write final work in your own words. Outputs are not regulated medical, legal, financial or other professional advice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance.
Service intellectual property
Bright ideas study buddy retains ownership of the service’s software, documentation and branding. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service in accordance with these terms. Do not resell the service or reverse engineer it except where the law permits.
Payments and subscriptions
The yearly subscription is £5.99, billed annually and renewed unless cancelled. A subscription is required for study tools. Currently checkout is test-only: no real money is charged and test subscriptions unlock preview access only. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid year. There is one plan, with no upgrades or downgrades currently available. See pricing and our refund policy.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
For payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund mechanics, see Paddle’s Buyer Terms. Product and study-support questions remain the responsibility of Bright ideas study buddy.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, non-payment where applicable, security or fraud risks, or serious or repeated violations. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights.
